Awards 

This committee reviews Circle of Honor (COH) rules and examines COH applications to qualify them for approval by the Board of Directors. Additionally, the Board's Annual Awards are reviewed each year and amended as needed. This committee also plans the annual awards celebration.

Community Service

This committee plans and organizes community service projects. It organizes and supervises special Board functions as instructed by the Board of Directors and encourages Member participation in these events.

Education

This committee plans and schedules new member orientation programs and continuing education classes.

Governmental Affairs & RPAC

This committee reviews legislation and recommends political action to protect the interests of REALTORS®, our industry, and our clients. It shapes the formulation of local laws and regulations through professional lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and supporting the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates for public office. This committee raises funds and recommends disbursements for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

Membership

This committee recruits new affiliate members, REALTOR® members and promotes the REALTOR® image.

Public Relations

To help assist with press releases and promote Board activities to the members and to increase in a positive manner the public's perception of REALTORS® and of the Gordon Association of REALTORS®.

Statewide Professional Standards Cooperative

The Gordon Association is a member of the Statewide Professional Standards Cooperative established by the Georgia Association of REALTORS®. Members of the following 2 committees are appointed by the Gordon Board of Directors at the beginning of each calendar year.

Let us know if you are interested in participating on either committee so you will be considered for the next calendar year's appointments.

Grievance

This committee reviews and investigates complaints against members as well as arbitration requests filed with the Board. When appropriate, it refers them to the Professional Standards Committee for a hearing.

In order to participate on this committee, you must: (1) have held REALTOR® membership for a minimum of three years; (2) attend a GAR approved Professional Standards training seminar; and (3) sign a confidentiality agreement. Gordon holds one seat of representation on this committee.

Professional Standards

This committee encourages strict adherence to the REALTORS® Code of Ethics by all members. It conducts hearings on alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, commission disputes, and other matters referred by the Grievance Committee and/or the Board of Directors.

In order to participate on this committee, you must: (1) have held REALTOR® membership for a minimum of five years; (2) attend a GAR approved Professional Standards training seminar; and (3) sign a confidentiality agreement. Gordon holds six seats of representation on this committee.
